1960-69

Linda Meeuwenberg (HP ’68, EHS ’78), professor emerita of Ferris’ Dental Hygiene Program, was awarded the 2017 Swann D. Knoles Achievement Award at the Florida Dental Hygiene Association Annual Symposium, where she also served as a speaker. Presented for “outstanding dedication and support of the dental hygiene profession,” the award recognized Meeuwenberg’s work in developing programs for seniors, children and the uninsured, as well as her service to the Smile Angel Foundation and as vice president of her local dental hygiene association.
1970-79

John Hemming (MCO ’79) retired from active practice of optometry in January of 2017. He also previously served as president of the Ferris State University Alumni Association. Hemming plans to enjoy time with his family, spend the winters in Florida, and travel with his wife and friends.
1980-89

Thomas C. McLeod (B ’81) is the current owner of T. C. McLeod Advertising. His daughter Madison C. McLeod is attending Ferris this year as a freshman studying Business and will play on the varsity softball team. During college, Thomas served as the vice president of Student Government and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

Peter Berden (B ’83) recently became the CEO of Harvard Eye Associates, relocating from Florida to Laguna Hills, California. In this position, he is responsible for the administration of a 14-physician clinic with three locations and a surgery center with a focus on Ophthalmology, located in Orange County.

Dave (ET ’84) and Laura (Sinning) Knoll (B ’83) renewed their wedding vows after 33 years of marriage on July 29, 2017 at their home in Hampshire, Illinois. Dave owns and operates Incredible Builders Construction Company in Chicago, and Laura owns Inner Serenity support group in Hampshire, Illinois.

Russ Fatum (B ’86) was named senior vice president of Human Resources for Chenega Corporation, based in Anchorage, Alaska. Fatum started as the Night Manager of Rankin Center at Ferris before moving to automotive Tier One, Chrysler Corporation and Textron Inc., and then L3 Technologies Aerospace Division. He and his wife, Gail (Loehr) Fatum (AS ’87), are both Ferris alumni originally from Reed City, Michigan.

Tad Kosanovich (MCO ’86) recently became the first president from Michigan of the Florida Optometric Association. He has been a volunteer for the FOA for more than 25 years, and is a 20-year member of the Rotary Club of Englewood, Florida, where he has a private practice.
1990-99
Jamie Reuter (P ’96) was promoted to vice president of Enterprise Pharmacy Solutions at EmblemHealth and ConnectiCare in April of 2017.
Lisa (Crutcher) Jameson-Shea (B ’99) was recently named executive director of Northern Colorado Latino Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization. The vision of NCLF is to increase the social, educational and economic strength of the Northern Latino community in Colorado. Jameson-Shea current resides in Broomfield, Colorado.
2000-09

Geryl (Weis) Lobert (AS ’01) was recently selected by the Michigan Council of Teachers of English as the 2017 Secondary English Teacher of the Year. She was recognized with a plaque at the annual fall conference in East Lansing, Michigan in October.
She was also recognized as the recipient of the National Council of Teachers of English 2017 High School Teacher of Excellence Award in November during the annual convention in St. Louis, Missouri.

Nathan Clark (B ’09) and Erin (VandenBosch) Clark (AS ’08), of Big Rapids, Michigan, welcomed the birth of their second child, Mila Mae, on March 13, 2017.
Andrew Kobe (ET ’09) was recently promoted to vice president and business manager for process solutions at TDIndustries. Working at the company since his internship in 2008, Kobe previously led pre-construction and sales for process solutions, as well as served on the engineering team and as the engineering project lead.
2010-present

Avery Larson (B ’13) and Travis Ouellette (B ’13) were engaged April 2017, and are planning a wedding for June 2018. Larson currently resides in Royal Oak, Michigan, and works for lululemon’s girls brand, ivivva by lululemon. Ouellette currently resides in Windsor, Ontario, and is applying to be a Windsor Policeman. Both will reside in Windsor, Ontario, after their marriage.

Allie Bowker (B ’14) and Michael King (EHS ’14) were married on Sept. 3, 2017, in Traverse City, Michigan. Bowker currently serves as a business development manager at McKay, an RR Donnelley Company, and King is a digital media producer for the Grand Rapids Griffins, and the director of digital media and coach at Heartland Hockey Camp. They reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Amber Sheerin (B ’16) was recently named East Lansing Marriott employee of the year and was promoted from sales assistant to sales manager within the organization, where she oversees conference planning, group bookings and events. She resides in Lansing, Michigan, with her husband, Stuart.
